Speaker Meetings
May 1st, 2009
I have been a big fan of going to AA Speaker meetings since my treatment at Hazelden. I find hearing other peoples’ stories of ‘experience, strength and hope’ very fulfilling. Tonight I am going up to Hazelden to listen to one of my favorite speakers, John M talk about his story. John was our spiritual advisor in the Silkworth unit at Hazelden and I did my 5th step with him. If you ever get a chance to hear him speak, I would recommend it highly. I will post one of them at the bottom of this article. Hope they don’t mind!!
Speaking of which, if you haven’t found this already, iTunes has an AA Speaker Meeting podcast. This podcast has 100’s of individual lectures from all over the country at various AA shindigs and conventions. It is called AA Speaker Tapes and you can search for it, or just click on my link to it.
These podcasts are a great way to get many perspectives and a spiritual jolt if you cannot make a meeting. Here is one of John M’s lectures, which is a bit of his story.
